Groff’s Chocolate Fundraiser

Its Chocolate Egg Fundraiser Time! BUT this year there are other items from which to choose!  Attached is the order form to order Milk or Dark Chocolate Eggs (peanut butter, coconut creme or butter creme) 1 dozen is $10 each.  This year you can also purchase Milk or Dark Chocolate Pretzels, Solid Milk Chocolate Bunnies, Milk or Dark Chocolate Nonpareils all of these are $9 each. All orders are due March 11th and Chocolate will be picked up on March 25th from 5pm to 5:30pm. Click HERE to see the order sheets.

Mad Science Wows the crowd at Cavalcade

The Hempfield Marching Knights closed out the season at Cavalcade Championships with a Silver Award performance and with the best score since the 2019 season. Thanks to all who made the year a success! You can see hundreds of photos from the event HERE

March-A-Thon/Homecoming Parade set

4th Annual MARCH-A-THON, now part of the Hempfield High School Homecoming Parade! COMING TO “THE NEIGHBORHOOD” SATURDAY, OCTOBER 7th Starting at 10:00 am at HHS.

HMK and HBBC (Hempfield Band Booster Club) are once again having a march-a-thon to entertain the community and to raise funds for our program. HBBC is reaching out for community support and will be accepting donations as the High School Band proudly marches through the Landisville neighborhood. Come out to enjoy and support the Band. HMK will host “Knight of the Bands”

Saturday, September 23rd, the Hempfield Marching Knights will host their 30th annual marching band festival. Set to take place at the Georgelis, Larsen and Sabitino Injury Law Firm Stadium. More information will be shared soon.

HMK to host Reading Buccaneers Classic

The Hempfield Marching Knights will again be the site for some of the best marching corps in the area when they host the Reading Buccaneers Classic Saturday, July 16th at 6:30 (Gates open at 5:00). For more information, CLICK HERE

HIPE Goes Top 5 at WGI World Champs!

Setting a new mark for the program for the second year in a row, the Indoor Percussion Ensemble, under the direction of Matt Carraher, finished 5th at the WGI Championships in Dayton, Ohio, April 20-22. You can see the video of their performance HERE

HIPE Takes Second Title in a Row at KIDA

For the second straight year, HIPE took top honors in the Scholastic National Blue division at the Keystone Indoor Drill Association Championships held April 2 at Chambersburg High School. You can see their performance HERE

Symphonic Band Participates in Temple University Festival of Winds.

Hempfield’s Symphonic Band was invited to take part in the 2023 Festival of Winds, sponsored by Temple University Bands and the Music Education Department. Not only did they get to perform and take part in masterclasses, they were able to hear two of the University’s ensembles.

HMK takes Bronze at COB Hershey

Garnering their best score of the year, the 101 members of HMK brought home the bronze award for their show Unlimited. Images can be found HERE

HMK Takes Part in Bands of America Event

For the first time in a number of years, HMK took part in a regional BOA event at University of Delaware. Images from the event can be found HERE.

H.I.P.E. Takes 8th in the nation!

Hurst Selected to PMEA All-State Wind Ensemble

Congratulations to Hempfield High School sophomore Andre Hurst! He has been selected to be a member of the PMEA All-State Wind Ensemble! Congratulations to Andre on all his hard work and determination!

Six Band Members Take Part in PMEA District 7 South Concert Band

The mission of the PA Music Educators Association is to advance music education by encouraging excellence in the study, teaching and making of music. Following auditions in December, six Hempfield Band members were chosen for the District 7 South band made up of schools in Lancaster, York and Adams counties. Congratulations to: Marissa Dagen (Clarinet 3); Carter Guengerich (Percussion); Andre Hurst (Clarinet 1); Layla Millhouse (Clarinet 2); Zeke Stephens (Clarinet 2); and Meghan Wolf (Coronet 2).
